Performing, not living
You’re capable and dependable, but it often feels like you’re always managing, adapting, and meeting expectations instead of being yourself.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are your fees?
The current fee for individual psychotherapy is $185 per session.
Standard therapy sessions are 50-minutes in length. This includes time for the session itself, as well as any preparation or documentation that supports your ongoing care.
In some situations, a longer session may be helpful. Extended sessions can be arranged in advance with your therapist and are billed proportionately based on the standard session rate.
From time to time, fees may be updated to support the sustainability and quality of care we provide. Any changes are always communicated in advance.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes. Most extended health insurance plans in Ontario cover psychotherapy services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist (RP).
You have a few options:
- Pay upfront, and we can submit a claim on your behalf for reimbursement.
- If your plan allows, we can bill your provider directly, so you don’t have to pay out of pocket.
If you’re unsure about your coverage, we recommend contacting your insurance provider directly. Helpful questions to ask include:
- Are sessions with a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) covered under my plan?
- What is my annual coverage, and how much is covered per session?
- Does my plan allow for direct billing?
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for 48-hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. This allows us to offer your reserved time to someone else who may be waiting for support.
You can cancel or reschedule by:
- Emailing info@thinkwelltherapy.org or your therapist directly
- Calling 437-475-3580
- Logging into your Jane App profile (outside the 48-hour window)
Cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice may be charged the full session fee. We understand that unexpected situations can arise. If this happens, please reach out so we can discuss your circumstances.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Therapy isn’t only for moments of crisis. It can also be a space to slow down, process your thoughts and feelings, and support wellbeing over time.
Some people come to therapy with specific concerns such as anxiety, ADHD, burnout, chronic pain, or substance use. Others are functioning well on the outside but feel scattered, emotionally disconnected, or unsure how to move forward.
For many adults, particularly those in high-pressure roles or with a history of burnout, therapy can offer a steady place to check in, understand patterns, and prevent stress from building quietly over time.
If you’re unsure whether therapy is right for you, we offer a complimentary 20-minute consultation to explore whether working together feels like a good fit.
How often will I need to attend therapy?
Session frequency depends on your goals, needs, and capacity. Early on, many people find weekly or biweekly sessions helpful to build momentum, establish safety, and begin making sense of what they’ve been carrying.
As insight grows and patterns begin to shift, sessions may be spaced out, every 3–4 weeks or occasional check-ins for ongoing support.
There’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Some people benefit from short-term support, while others value having a longer-term space to return to during transitions, stress, or periods of overwhelm. We’ll collaborate to find a pace that feels supportive and sustainable for you.
How do I choose the right therapist for me?
The relationship you build with your therapist is one of the most important parts of therapy. Research consistently shows that feeling safe, understood, and accepted plays a key role in positive outcomes.
Therapy works best when you don’t feel the need to perform or hide parts of who you are. A strong therapeutic relationship allows space for honesty, curiosity, and feeling understood, especially for those navigating ADHD, perfectionism, or long-standing stress.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, which is why we offer a free consultation. This gives you the chance to ask questions and get a sense of what it feels like to connect before committing to a full session.
While a consultation offers a helpful first impression, rapport often develops gradually over time. At Think Well Psychotherapy, we encourage you to explore our therapist profiles and trust your instincts. If you’d like support choosing the right fit, we’re always happy to help.
